Jay’s Reaction to the iPad…

17 06 2010

Mommy loves her new iPad.

Jay woke up early this morning, and he caught a glimpse of the box that contained the iPad.

He turned to me in wonder.

Walked right up to the box.

Attempted to “slide” the icons.

Realised it was just a photo of the iPad.

And told me…

“Giant iPhone!”

Hahaha!

I did let him fiddle with my iPad for a while. I was earlier a bit reluctant to download Talking Carl (seeing how he “abuses” Nic’s iPhone), but seeing his unbridled enthusiasm, I decided to grant him that. And it was an instant hit! Haha!

Any good apps for kids to recommend?

His Latest Craze

12 06 2010

It’s no secret that Jay loves animals.

He had his eye on this Lego-Duplo Zoo set, but we’ve always resisted getting it for him because it is expensive. Like more than 200 bucks?! Gosh, this is obviously a job for the Grandparents or Rich Uncle/Aunty. Haha! But he is usually content with just going to Isetan to look at the animals on the cover of the box.

This morning, I brought him over to Parkway for breakfast, and after a hearty meal, we decided to walk it off and saw a small toy shop at the basement of the shopping centre, and went in.

Immediately, Jay was captivated by some toys.

Playmobil! (Little comfort, cos it is as expensive as the Duplo one! Yikes…)

And they had a fabulous range of animal safari and zoo sets, and he had such a fun time pointing out the various animals to me. In the photo above, he is staring at, no, not the pyramid, but a small scorpion at the lower right hand of the box! Haha!

He found a safari set placed in the shelf waaaay above his reach and bugged me to carry so he could view the animals.

Mommy: “Ok, let’s go off now.” (Mommy’s tired.)

Jayvon: “Buy and go home?” (Nice try, kiddo…)

Mommy: “No, we bring Daddy here to see ok?” (Let him be the one to say No, heh!)

Jayvon: “No. Bring giraffe.”

Mommy: “Why giraffe??!”

Jayvon: “Giraffe tall tall taaaaalllll… Take box, buy and go home.”

Mommy: “Erm…….. Ok! We bring the giraffe next time.”

Jayvon: “Ok!”

Hahaha! Jay really cracks me up with his line of thoughts sometimes!

New Pyjamas

6 05 2010

Sometimes Jay really throws me off-guard with how he thinks and what he says!

Being the *ahem* online shopaholic that I am, I have bought many tee-shirts, be they long-sleeved, short-sleeved or sleeveless, jackets, bermudas, shorts, jeans from Old Navy and Gap…

And so it was a matter of time before I would get into pyjamas.

Yes. Pyjamas. I bought pyjamas. Online.

Thank God for a longsuffering hubby who bears with all this!

How cute these are, don’t you think?

He wore these for the first time tonight, and after getting into it, he looked down at the pants and loudly exclaimed:

“Why like that?!”

Accessorizing!

4 05 2010

Jay has a thing about sunglasses. He absolutely adores it! So much so that I purposely bought a pair from him, when my sis ordered a recent batch of Old Navy/Gap clothes! Haha! So he will finally have well-fitting shades and not have to steal borrow wear my sisters’ ones!

One cool dude baby.

And I tell you, it isn’t just at home that he loves accessories! He is like this at school too!

Nice googly-eyes!

And… prepare your hearts. He also loves to wear his classmate’s hairband! Hahaha!

SNC00557

Hilarious!

He gladly poses for the shots too! Hahaha!

Funny Faces!

23 04 2010

I was so tickled by some of these latest shots of Jay at Little Big!

I think he makes the funniest funny faces… haha!

Doesn’t the world look good splashed in blue?

Making funny faces is always good for a laugh!

As you can see, he loves hippos!

Jay adores zebras.

Well, he adores animals as a whole…

But these stripey animals have a special place in his heart.

He showed me this seaweed biscuit and our conversation went like this:

Jayvon: “Stripes!”

Mommy: “Hmm… It’s more like spots, baby.”

Jayvon: “Stripes”

Mommy: “Spots. Say… spots”

Jayvon: “Spots”

Then he points to the biscuit again, and…

Jay: “Stripes! Same as zebra! Stripes!”

Mommy: “……”

Of Lawyers and, err, Lions?!

4 04 2010

At bedtime, we were having a nice chat with Jayvon, and Nic was teasingly telling Jayvon about the kind of jobs he can go for when he grows up.

He was telling Jay, “Next time, you can be an ARCHITECT…” (cos his spatial ability is being honed daily through jigsaw puzzles)

“Or maybe an ACTOR?” (For his ability to whine cry on demand)

“Or a MUSICIAN?” (after all, he loves guitar!)

“Or a LAWYER?” (seeing how good he was in answering back… haha!)

At this, Jay brightened up and said…

I WANT TO BE LION!

At this point, I stepped in to correct Jay’s pronunciation.

LAW-YER, baby”

“Lion!”

“Law… Yer”

“Lion! Rrragh! Lion! I be lion!”

So much for future job opportunities! Hahaha!

Nap-time!

21 03 2010

Nic emailed this photo he took of Jay this afternoon, when he was taking his afternoon nap. He twisted 90 degrees, head landed on my bolster…

And ended up in this “sleeping buddha” position.

Totally hilarious!

My Sneaky Little Fella!

23 02 2010

These two photographs brought a smile to Mommy’s face! See if you can spot Jayvon’s sneakiness!

See it? No? Let me enlarge it a little for your benefit!

This should be more obvious.

No?

Taking advantage of his teacher’s attention being diverted to his classmate to steal away that orange!

My Daddy & I

27 05 2009

IMG_0037

There was a much nicer picture Mommy took last night.

For fear of repercussion (i.e. Daddy killing Mommy), she has decided to retain the photo for her own laughter amusement memory’s sake.

Suffice to say, Daddy seems to sleep in the same position as I do. Copycat.

No wonder they say, like father like son. Daddy’s just like me!
